Leicester City did not allow Filip Benkovic to go on loan to Stoke City late in the summer transfer window.
Benkovic wanted to make the move so that he could get regular first team football.
But he was denied that opportunity by City, who would only let him go if they signed a replacement for Harry Maguire, per The Athletic.
Benkovic has not played a single minute for Leicester this season, given the form of Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu and Wes Morgan.
The 22-year-old is desperate to get a chance for a loan move in January.
