Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been banned for eight games after his moment of madness in the FA Cup.
The Cottagers were leading 1-0 at Old Trafford when Willian handled on the line and United were awarded a penalty.
Mitrovic and his manager Marco Silva were furious at the decision, which appeared straightforward after a VAR review.
Silva was sent off, while Mitrovic also saw red. However, the striker continued to argue with the referee and even pushed him at one stage.
And the FA want the independent regulatory commission to impose an even harsher ban.
The FA statement on Tuesday read: We note the decision of the independent regulatory commission to sanction Aleksandar Mitrovic and Marco Silva.
Our current intention is to appeal both sanctions, however we will await the written reasons before confirming our final position."
