Wolves winger Daniel Podence has been charged by the FA for allegedly spitting at Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.
The two players scored in Saturday's 1-1 draw, but also clashed close to the final whistle.
Referee Chris Kavanagh took no action after a VAR check at the City Ground. But the FA have now charged Podence.
The standard punishment for spitting is a six-match suspension.
Forest have also been charged for "failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or do not behave in a way which is improper".
The club's assistant manager Alan Tate and his Wolves counterpart Pablo Sanz, who were both sent off, have been charged for "improper and/or violent behaviour".
Podence, Forest, Tate and Sanz have until 12 April to respond.
