Fadhlina Sidek earns Datuk Seri title from Melaka leader

MELAKA, Aug 24 - Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek led the list of 1,328 recipients of awards in conjunction with the 77th Birthday of Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam today.

Fadhlina received the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

Also receiving the same title were Chief Justice of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail, and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman.

The other awardees were Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, Petronas Downstream executive president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Sazali Hamzah, and National Silat Federation (PESAKA) president Datuk Seri Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.

Meanwhile, 56 people received the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) award which carries the title “Datuk Wira”, including Benut assemblyman Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Kumar Muthuvelu, National Solid Waste Management Department director-general Datuk Mohd Azhar Abd Hamid, and Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

Fourteen people were awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, including Sabah State Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Datuk Al Hambra Juhar, High Court judge Datuk Suria Kumar Durairaj Johnson Paul, and 3rd Infantry Division commander Datuk Sani S. Omar.

A total of 189 recipients were awarded the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, including Broadcasting Department director-general Datuk Ashwad Ismail, Media Prima Bhd TV Network news and current affairs group editor Datuk Azhari Muhiddin, and Datuk Siti Roziana Zain, or Ziana Zain, who was born in Merlimau, Jasin.

In other categories, five people were commissioned as Justices of Peace, while 106 recipients were awarded the Darjah Seri Melaka (DSM).

Also awarded were the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM) to 151 recipients, Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) to 244 recipients, Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) to 386 recipients, Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM) to 161 recipients, and Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL) to five recipients.

Meanwhile, Melaka Secretary Datuk Salhah Salleh in a statement announced that the awards reflect the state’s appreciation for those who have served in and contributed to various fields and played a role in the state’s development and well-being.
