SANDAKAN: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is now a top career pathway, with a 99 percent employability rate, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
She emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring fair wages for highly skilled TVET graduates, as demand for TVET professionals continues to rise.
Speaking at the launch of Kolej Vokasional Sandakan 2 (KVS2) on Saturday, Fadhlina highlighted the importance of TVET in national development and urged public support.
KVS2, spanning 9.5 acres, is the first vocational college built to full specifications, featuring modern facilities, workshops, and dormitories. The RM59.8 million project was completed in March 2023 and began operations in March 2024.
The event also saw the signing of an MoU between KVS2 and Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) to promote conservation efforts.
