With his winning song “Mekar Sumping Ngintam Ku”, the villager of Kampung Taun Gusi Padang in Kota Belud defeated seven other finalists in the singing contest held at the Rumpun Bajausama Sabah Cultural Centre open stage, here, on Sunday.
Fadzley, who spent only two weeks to prepare for the contest, brought home a cash prize of RM3,500, a trophy, an accompanying prize and a recording contract presented by Persatuan Rumpun Bajausama Sabah Vice President Datuk Jumat Idris.
Mizal Zairy Yusry, better known as Mejjo, who represents the Keningau district was runner-up with a song called “Seliuh”.

The third place went to Mohd Raizzadil Jamree from Kg Rugading here who sang “Juduh Nia Kesampaian” and received a cash prize of RM1,500, a trophy and an accompanying prize.
Jumat, in his opening speech earlier, said the contest aimed to encourage young Bajausama to continue working in the field of singing.
He said the association would always provide a platform or space and opportunities for the younger generation, especially those who have talent in singing through various programmes organised from time to time.
