KUALA LUMPUR: Lembah Pantai MP Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has distributed RM150 vouchers for daily necessities to nearly 700 Chinese residents in his constituency.
The Communications Minister said the aid was for B40 and M40 groups to ease their Chinese New Year preparations.
Fahmi also announced the launch of a RM1 community ambulance service under Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang Malaysia.
“This is a community service effort to help residents in Lembah Pantai,” he told reporters at a constituency open house.
He advised residents needing the service to contact his office directly.
Earlier, Fahmi reminded the public to stay vigilant against online scams during the festive season.
He warned that cybercriminals often target people withdrawing savings for celebrations.
“If you become a victim, immediately contact the National Scam Response Centre hotline at 997,” he said.
He advised caution with messages via WhatsApp, SMS and social media, including unrealistic investment offers.
Fahmi added that MCMC has instructed telcos to block SMS containing suspicious links to curb scams.
