KUALA LUMPUR – Graphic artist and activist Fahmi Reza has claimed he was barred from entering Sabah upon arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport earlier today.
In a social media post, Fahmi shared an image of the notice he received at the airport, stating that the directive preventing his entry allegedly came from the Sabah Chief Minister’s Office.
“Got kicked out of Sabah again. This time, kicked out with an official entry ban letter that came directly from the Office of the Chief Minister of Sabah,” he wrote.

While Fahmi did not disclose the purpose of his trip, this is not the first time he has faced such an incident in the state.
In late December, he was reportedly detained upon attempting to land in Kota Kinabalu, following a caricature depicting former Sabah governor Tun Musa Aman as corrupt. He was subsequently deported in early January. - May 29, 2025
