
KENINGAU: The Keningau Native Court (MAN) will file a “sogit” lawsuit against controversial graphic designer Fahmi Reza, following the publication of a caricature that is alleged to insult Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman.
The caricature, which was circulated widely on social media and drawn at several public locations, is regarded by the Native Court as a serious affront to Musa and the people of Sabah, particularly the Kadazan Dusun Murut (KDM) community.

The meeting involved Keningau Native Chiefs (KAN), Native Chief Representatives (WKAN) and village heads (KK) who agreed to proceed with the lawsuit.

Read more “The meeting unanimously agreed that the Keningau Native Court must take firm action in accordance with the customs and regulations stipulated in the Sabah Native Court Enactment No. 13 of 1992,” said Daniel.
According to him, the lawsuit aims to demand “sogit” (customary compensation) from Fahmi, as the act not only tarnishes Musa’s image but also offends the dignity of the people of Sabah, particularly the KDM community.

“A letter of summons will be sent to Fahmi Reza in the near future, and we hope this action will serve as a lesson to all parties to respect the leaders and customs of the people of Sabah,” he said.
