PKR’s Fahmi Fadzil warns members against complacency and corruption, stressing the need to stay connected to the party’s reformist roots and the people
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR Information Chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has called on party members to remain responsive to the people and safeguard the party’s reformist ideals.
He stressed the importance of continuously upholding integrity and resisting any elements of corruption that could undermine these principles.
“Do not allow attitudes, especially the seeds of corruption, to erode the spirit of reform,” Fahmi said while officiating the PKR Gombak Branch Annual General Meeting.
He reminded all members, including himself, to ensure their efforts for the people remain consistent and meaningful beyond just political stability.
Fahmi, who is also the Communications Minister, noted that the actions of leaders are constantly observed and evaluated by the public.
He cautioned party leaders and members at all levels against becoming complacent or losing touch with the grassroots.
Despite PKR leading the Selangor administration since 2008, he stressed that unity and stability must continue to be preserved across all levels of leadership.
Fahmi described the Gombak branch as one of PKR’s strongholds and expressed hope for its continued resilience.
He urged the branch to contribute to Selangor’s development while protecting the party from elements that could undermine its integrity.
“I raise this as a reminder. Although Selangor has been under our administration since 2008 and Gombak remains strong, we must not become complacent as a governing party,” he said.
Fahmi added that all members represent leaders, including Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
