
The Zirakpur police on Thursday claimed to have busted a fake call centre with the arrest of six persons.
The accused operated the call Centre with the name “Hometown Travel” at Global Business Park. They allegedly duped foreign nationals by posing as travel agents.
The police said the accused used fake identities to contact people living abroad and extort money from them by luring them in the name of various travel services.
The accused are said to be residents of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. During the raid, the police also seized five computers, a laptop and other digital devices.
