
Kota Kinabalu: Three individuals were detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah on suspicion of submitting fake invoices involving a total of more than RM800,000 to a Ministry office in 2019.
The trio, in their 30s and 40s, were detained around 10am Wednesday at the Sabah MACC office when they arrived to testify to facilitate the investigation.
They are suspected of submitting fake invoices in connection with requests for payment of transportation costs for a project over a three-month period from September to November 2019.
Sabah MACC Director Datuk S. Karunanithy said the case is investigated under Section 471 of the Penal Code and Section 109 of the Penal Code. He said the three suspects are expected to be charged in the Special Corruption Court soon.
