In a joint raid conducted by the NCERT team and the CM Flying Squad, 483 fake NCERT Class 9 Science books have been recovered from a book shop at Pehowa Chowk in Kaithal. An FIR has been registered against the accused, a police official said.
The police had received information regarding the storage and sale of fake NCERT books. Acting on the tip-off, a joint team led by sub-inspector Rajbir Singh of the CM Flying Squad, Kurukshetra-Kaithal, conducted a raid at the shop. Officials from the NCERT office in Delhi and the Education Department were also part of this team.
During the inspection, officials checked all the books stored there and found 483 fake English-medium NCERT Science books for Class 9. Officials said that the seized books did not contain the official NCERT watermark logos, confirming them to be fake.
“The books have been seized and kept at the police station for further investigation,” said an official.
An NCERT official from Delhi submitted a written complaint to the City police station in Kaithal, seeking legal action against the shop owner for allegedly storing and selling fake NCERT books.
