KUALA LUMPUR – Businessman Datuk Seri Farhash Wafa Salvador has firmly denied allegations accusing him of involvement in theft and money laundering worth billions of ringgit overseas.
The denial comes after multiple media outlets reported claims first published on April 22, April 23, and May 5, linking him to illegal activities in countries including Türkiye and Africa.
Reports suggesting that he has acquired Turkish citizenship were also dismissed by Farhash.
“I categorically and without any doubt deny all these allegations. These claims are false, baseless, and defamatory, clearly intended to tarnish my reputation and integrity, as well as negatively impact my personal life and business affairs.
“For clarification, I am not a Turkish citizen, have never engaged in any theft or money laundering as alleged, and do not hold any bank accounts in Türkiye.
“I am solely a businessman and currently not involved in politics. I am completely unaware of why my name has been dragged into this matter, other than the possibility that certain individuals have ulterior political motives,” he said in a statement today.
Farhash also expressed concern over the circulation of a video recording, which he described as maliciously spread by certain parties. He warned that the act is not only irresponsible but may also breach the law.
“In this regard, I have lodged a police report and handed the matter over to the authorities for further investigation under the relevant legal provisions, including Section 499 of the Penal Code. I will provide full cooperation throughout the investigation,” he added.
The former Political Secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed his legal team to initiate proceedings against those responsible for spreading the defamatory content to safeguard his reputation and interests.
He urged the public not to disseminate or believe unverified information and to allow the authorities to conduct a fair and transparent investigation. – May 6, 2026
