DATUK Noor Azman Rahman has officially resumed his role as Secretary-General of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) after the organisation’s Disciplinary Committee ruled that his suspension had come to an end.

The decision was made during a meeting of the FAM Disciplinary Committee held on Thursday, allowing Noor Azman to immediately return to his duties.

In a statement, FAM said the ruling confirmed that Noor Azman was found to have committed only administrative negligence and was neither guilty nor involved in any element of document falsification.

The association noted that its Executive Committee had earlier, on 22 December 2025, reviewed the findings of the Independent Investigation Committee (IIC) and decided to maintain Noor Azman’s suspension, which had been in effect since 17 October last year, pending further action by the Disciplinary Committee.

The FAM Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Datuk Dr Baljit Singh Sidhu, subsequently convened to deliberate on the matter, taking into account the duration of the suspension already served by Noor Azman as well as the IIC report dated 15 December.

Following its review, the committee resolved that Noor Azman should be reinstated as FAM Secretary-General with immediate effect.

Noor Azman had been suspended on 17 October amid investigations linked to FIFA concerning the eligibility status of seven mixed-heritage players representing the national team, Harimau Malaya.

The suspension was imposed to facilitate the establishment of an independent committee to investigate technical and administrative errors that led to sanctions being imposed by FIFA. - January 8, 2025
