For emotional security and support - families provide a dependable safe haven, offering unconditional love and stability that help members navigate life's challenges. Regular interactions and shared activities teach crucial values like empathy, cooperation, communication, and healthy conflict resolution. For health and behavioral protection, research consistently links routine family gatherings, such as shared breakfast, lunch and dinner, with lower risks of our youth engaging in substance abuse and risky behaviors. The idea of Family Day isn't just a nostalgic nod to recall a memorable bygone era. Based on my own experience, I found in essence more often children dine with their parents & families, the less likely they are to embark on potentially harmful paths.
I realized the aim for Family Day of Ishak-Aishah organized by our 2nd generation led by Nor Azlina was held on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at the K.G. Residency Club, Kg. Kubu Gajah, Sg Buluh, was simple yet profound: to remind families the importance of coming together, forging connections with each other, and creating a protective environment for young members simply by playing games together and sharing traditional meals. In an age where screens often dominate our attention, the Family Day provides an invaluable platform for communication, understanding, and bonding. This event fosters a sense of belonging, teaches the important social skills, and provides opportunity for the elders to impart values, discuss challenges, and celebrate achievements.
Evidently, I saw the outcome for Family Day of Ishak-Aishah is not just about the act of playing and eating together, it's about a cultural shift, parental and cousins' movement towards re-embracing the family unit as a source of strength, guidance, and support. In today's AI world, where external influences constantly compete for our attention, Family Day serves as a beacon, reminding us of the unparalleled power & potential of the original society network, our family.
