THE family of the late Suri Narudin, 53, has expressed relief and gratitude after authorities officially confirmed her identity, allowing them to proceed with funeral arrangements.
Suri’s niece, who wished to be identified only as Sasha, said she was on her way to the hospital to make the necessary preparations.
“Alhamdulillah, the identity of my aunt has finally been confirmed, and our family hopes to manage the funeral as soon as possible,” Sasha told Harian Metro.
She added that the family also hoped the police would conduct a thorough investigation so that those responsible for the brutal act would be brought to justice.
“I pray that the perpetrator receives a punishment commensurate with the cruel act committed against my aunt,” she said.
Meanwhile, Suri’s close friend and singer, Mac Ruhayu, revealed that the body may not be flown back to Sarawak and could instead be buried in Peninsular Malaysia. She said that the late Suri might be interred either at a cemetery in Gombak, Selangor, or in Jasin, Melaka, although no final decision has been made by the family.
Earlier reports confirmed that the body found in a bag buried near an abandoned house at Kampung Batu 4 Pedas, Rembau, on 18 December, was indeed Suri Narudin.
Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that the identification was carried out using fingerprints, which matched records held by the National Registration Department (JPN).
He also confirmed that analysis from the Chemistry Department of Malaysia showed that the DNA profile of the specimen was closely related to samples provided by the victim’s relatives. - December 24, 2025
