Face-to-face gatherings help relatives bridge geographical distances and repair relationships. It is preserving heritage whereby older relatives pass down family history, traditions, and values to younger generations through storytelling. Such gatherings create a reliable safety net, lowering stress & reducing isolation in a busy world. Building social networks among relatives form supportive networks that offer mentorship, resources and advice. I believe these events serve as a crucible for psychological & cultural consolidation, reinforcing the family bonds that extend far beyond the immediate joy of gatherings.
In this context, my wife, Zarina & I welcome the initiatives of our children, Izni Fauzan & Izni Farzana to join forces with their cousins led by Nor Azlin in organizing Family Day Keluarga Ishak & Aishah on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at K.G. Residency Club, Kampung Kubu Gajah, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. It will be a huge gathering for three generations of Ishak & Aishah family. Normally, such gathering being held in conjunction with Aidilfitri celebrations…
I understand organizing this family day is not without their challenges, such as deciding for a suitable venue and logistics, budgets, selection of F&B and the games to accommodate for all levels & ages. However, their myriad benefits ranging from emotional & psychological support to cultural preservation and social networking - underscore their significance in contemporary society. These gatherings serve as a linchpin for familial and community wellbeing. It provide a sanctuary where individuals can reconnect with their past, reaffirm their family root identities, and force stronger ties with their extended kin.
With the demise of their parents, Ishak & Aishah (Alfatihah - may their soul rest in peace), Zarina and her siblings together with their spouses are elevated as the Council of Elders for the family providing advice and support to the Organizing Committee. We have to stay relevant for our younger generations.
