Comments like “She is truly an international star. That’s why she is so popular in Malaysia and was named as the tourism ambassador” highlight a sense of pride in her achievements, despite her controversial past.
This appointment raises important questions about the criteria and considerations for choosing tourism ambassadors. Should a celebrity’s influence and ability to attract attention outweigh their past indiscretions?
