- The encounter was made more surreal as McCartney was on a video call with his former bandmate, Ringo Starr, at the time.
- The bus driver, Neil Morton, told the BBC: “I had pulled up at the traffic lights on Hope Street when who should I see – Sir Paul with Ringo on FaceTime.”
- McCartney was in Liverpool to present an award to actor and producer Stephen Graham at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), which McCartney co-founded.
- It comes amidst a renewed interest in The Beatles, with upcoming films, recent musical releases, and new dedicated experiences.
