- Helen Jenner has been appointed as the new leader of Reform UK in Wales, the largest opposition group in the Senedd.
- She succeeds Dan Thomas, who resigned last week following his arrest on suspicion of assault and controlling or coercive behaviour.
- Mr Thomas was released without charge, denied any wrongdoing, and said that he will continue to serve as a Member of the Senedd.
- Ms Jenner, the MS for Bangor Conwy Mon and former deputy leader, also serves as shadow Cabinet minister for education and the Welsh language.
- Reform UK leader Nigel Farage described Ms Jenner as “a determined campaigner [and] someone that I trust”.
