DATUK Seri Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, a former political secretary to a national leader, avoided media attention on Saturday after receiving the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN), which carries the honorific title Datuk Seri.
The investiture ceremony was held in conjunction with the 84th birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang, Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, at the Dewan Sri Pinang.
Farhash appeared in good spirits as he was congratulated by friends from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) outside the venue. However, he promptly returned indoors upon noticing members of the press.
Sinar Harian reported that his presence attracted attention following calls by Pandan MP and former PKR deputy president, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate Farhash over allegations linked to a 70,000-hectare coal exploration licence in Sabah, allegedly awarded to a company connected to him.
“There is sufficient basis for the MACC to open an investigation into Farhash Wafa Salvador, just as they have done with other individuals accused of sudden wealth,” Rafizi said in a Facebook post on Friday.
He added, “The information made public thus far warrants scrutiny to ensure transparency and avoid any negative perception towards the government.”
Rafizi warned that failure to act could undermine ongoing anti-corruption efforts and further damage Malaysia’s standing on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). - July 26, 2025
