A 40-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping from the 4 floor of the SRS Residency Society in Sector 88, Faridabad. Police have sent the woman’s body to BK Hospital for a post-mortem and are investigating.

According to the police, the deceased woman was identified as Richa Taneja Goyal, who lived with her husband and twin sons in a flat on the fourth floor of C-4 Tower. She used to work in the private sector three years ago, but she left her job three years ago due to health reasons. Her husband Rahul Goyal worked as a manager at Adani Gas Company, but he had left his job recently.

On Wednesday, Richa along with her 12-year-old sons was at the flat while her husband had gone to Agra to drop his sister. It was around 10 am when she reached the fourth floor of C-1 Tower using the elevator. A society guard saw her leaving but did not suspect anything. Shortly after, she jumped from the building and died on the spot.

After receiving information, a police team reached the spot and took the body of the woman in custody and sent it to the mortuary. A senior police officer said that preliminary investigation suggests the woman took this extreme step due to a domestic dispute.

“We have informed the family of the deceased. The exact reasons behind the suicide is not clear yet, however, we are talking to the family”, said inspector Arvind Kumar, SHO of BPTP police station, Faridabad.
