KOTA KINABALU: A 52-year-old farmer was sentenced to 33 years in prison by the High Court here for murdering his wife in Sook last year.
High Court Judge Datuk Dr Lim Hock Leng delivered the sentence on Tuesday against Patersius Juliteh @ Julit at the close of the defence case.
Patersius was convicted of murdering his 41-year-old wife, Sansiah Tinggian, on Feb 2, 2024, at about 11pm at their home in Kg Tingalan.
Dr Lim ordered the 33-year sentence to run from the date of Patersius’ arrest on Feb 3, 2024.
The farmer, who was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, was spared whipping as he is over 50 years old.
