TAWAU: Police here have arrested four suspects and are tracking down four others in connection with a fight which resulted in the death a 28-year-old man outside an entertainment outlet in the Fajar area on Tuesday (Sept 13) morning.

Tawau Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said in the 4am incident, the victim was stabbed in the left chest and lost consciousness, and was later confirmed dead.

“As a result of the incident, the police arrested four local men, aged 22 to 35, in several locations. Four others are still at large,” he said, Thursday.

“Three of the suspects are currently under remand for seven days from Sept 14, while the remand application for the other suspect will be made today (Thursday),” he said.

The remand order, said Jasmin, was under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to facilitate further investigations of the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He said the suspects being sought are identified as Mohamad Johari Rahman @ Jojo whose last known address is at Tanjung Batu Laut; Muhamad Zulkifli Rahman @ Jul (Tanjung Batu Laut) and Mazlee Asan @ Yaszil (Jalan Damai), while another person who has yet to be identified.

He urged people, especially those living in Tanjung Batu Laut and Jalan Damai, who have any information about the whereabouts of the four men to contact ASP Zam Zarina Asri at 016-737 5868.
