THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has extended its condolences to the family of a 16-year-old student who was fatally stabbed in a tragic incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, while urging the public to act responsibly and avoid circulating any images or videos related to the case.
In a statement, the Commission called on all parties to refrain from sharing, reposting or uploading content depicting the victim, other students, or the scene of the incident.
“Should such content have already been uploaded, members of the public are strongly advised to remove it immediately,” the MCMC said.
The Commission stressed that circulating such material constitutes a violation of the privacy and dignity of the victim’s family and could interfere with the ongoing investigation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
MCMC also reminded the public that legal action may be taken against individuals found distributing sensitive content under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588). - October 15, 2025
