
PETALING JAYA: A 38-year-old man has been charged in the Butterworth sessions court with molesting and sodomising his four-year-old daughter.
The accused pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out before judge Noor Aini Yusof.
On the first count, he was charged with molesting his daughter at their family home in Seberang Perai Selatan some time last month.
The charge was framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for sexual assault on a child, which provides for up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping, upon conviction.

Read more The defendant was also accused of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent at the same time and place, under Section 377C of the Penal Code.
He faces a maximum jail term of up to 30 years and whipping upon conviction.
Noor Aini fixed July 15 for case mention while the defendant was not allowed bail. Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Nadia Jamal prosecuted.
