Father lodges police report after daughter falls to death, claims she was bullied by uni mates

A MAN has lodged a police report after suspecting the death of his daughter who fell from the 22nd floor of a condominium in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday was a result of bullying.

The man, identified as Jeff Ho, in his 50s, said his 22-year-old daughter was a student at a private university in Kuala Lumpur.

"I was informed by the condominium management at about 8.45am that my daughter died after she was believed to have fallen from the 22nd floor before rushing to the location.

"I was told by her friend that the friends at her school were suspected of emotionally bullying her.

"There was pressure from her friends because of a disagreement," he told Sinar Harian when met by reporters at the Wangsa Maju Police Headquarters.

The businessman said the second of three siblings had also complained about the matter to her older sister and younger brother.

He added that his daughter was also rescued by security guards after she is believed to have tried to jump from her home last week.

He hoped that the relevant parties could prioritise this matter to ensure that such incidents do not happen again and that other individuals become victims.

It is understood that the victim's body has been taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a post-mortem. – August 20, 2025
