Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is set for a new record-breaking salary in South Korea.

The 31-year-old has not played for a club since the end of last season when he left Nottingham Forest.

Lingard, who could not even earn a move to the Saudi Pro League, turned to South Korea recently.

Lingard will be the highest paid player in the K-League by some distance.

Chosun Ilbo, via Korea JoongAng Daily, stated that Lingard will earn 17,500 per week.

He is set to net a sum that is far short of what he was earning as a Premier League player.
