Long Pasia: Fed up with unfulfilled promises of elected representatives and indifference to their plight by the road concessionaire, residents of Kg Long Pasia decided to fill and repair the road between Kg Long Pasia and Kg Long Mio, a 4.5 kilometre stretch, all by themselves on Tuesday (pic).
The community project’s leader Tasar Singa said they started at sunrise to patch the badly damaged road using soil mixed with river sand and stones.
He said many vehicles from Kg Long Pasia ended up being stuck on the road following bad weather since the beginning of November.
“At the same time, we also helped remove four-wheel drives that were stuck or overturned so they could continue their journey to Sipitang town. This includes Kg Long Pasia Health Clinic vehicles,” he said, adding even an ambulance got stuck in the mud.
