KOTA MARUDU: The folks at Kg Sungai Magandai, in the interior of Kota Marudu, do not know who should be blamed for their predicament since independence in 1963 that seems to have no solution – the State or Federal Government.
Although the constituency is represented at both State and Federal levels, all they remember are expressions of sympathy and promises of proper road access, year after year by politicians which had now stretched to decades.
“Without a proper road, we cannot do much. “Although many NGOs come to help us, teaching us skills and imparting knowledge…honestly no matter how much we are motivated, our lives and mental growth won’t progress because we cannot access the outside world,” said Elic Welixon Solboy, 22.
