Kota Kinabalu: Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) President Tan Sri TC Goh is confident the newly-formed inclusive State Government will not implement policies harmful to the Chinese community.

Goh, also Permanent Honorary President of Huazong and President of the Sabah-Labuan Hokkien Federation, said despite the absence of Chinese ministers in the current Cabinet, established channels for raising concerns remain open — including through Chinese assistant ministers and appointed Chinese assemblymen.

He described Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as a moderate and harmonious leader who is willing to listen to the Chinese community’s needs, ensuring dialogue avenues for Chinese businesses and education stay accessible.

Goh also highlighted the strong, cordial ties between the Chinese community, Chinese business sector and key leaders, including the Chief Minister and Finance Minister, which allow for open communication and view-sharing.

He reaffirmed that the Chinese business community continues to play a significant role in Sabah’s economic growth, and emphasised that unity, racial harmony and religious moderation are core values that underpin the State’s diverse society.
