However, have you ever thought of marrying your classmate's parent?
According to Oriental Daily, a newly-wed couple from Japan with an age gap of 21 years has recently sparked widespread discussion due to the unusual fact that the wife is actually the mother of the husband’s elementary school classmate. The wife, Midori (54 years old), and the husband, Isamu (33 years old), were featured in a TV show, where their intimate interactions in their wedding home in Shizuoka Prefecture were put on TV, sparking lively discussions among viewers.
Unlike other couples who got to know each other through dating apps, social media or even workforce, this couple met in school, but not the fact that they were classmates. Instead, Isamu was a classmate of Midori’s daughter in elementary school. And shocking to know, Isamu noticed Midori at a parent-teacher meeting, fell in love with Midori at first sight when he was only 10! This wasn't that kind of puppy love we all thought, his determination was as long as 23 years, where when they reunited, Isamu began a determined pursuit.
At first, Midori thought he was joking, but after his passionate pursuit, she felt that “there was no one else in this world who could treat me so sincerely” and eventually agreed to start dating. After dating for two years, Isamu proposed marriage. However, Midori hesitated, as she hoped her boyfriend would marry someone closer to his own age and even have children. Midori’s parents strongly opposed the marriage due to the significant age gap.
To prove his commitment, Isamu bought land within a week, completed the design of their home within a month, and finished building the house in just 10 months. This determination deeply moved Midori and eventually led her parents to accept their relationship. When the new house was completed, the couple officially registered their marriage.
