KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 — A female civil servant, seen in a viral video clip insulting two policemen on Thursday, was arrested early this morning.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussien Omar Khan said that the 35-year-old local woman was arrested by the D9 branch of the Criminal Investigation Division, Gombak district police headquarters (IPD), at the IPD at 1.20am in connection with two investigation papers opened against her.

He said that the woman was summoned to the IPD Gombak for the first time yesterday, regarding an incident involving two policemen at Taman Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, on Thursday. The suspect was detained after reappearing at the IPD today.

“The police also seized a mobile phone to assist in the investigation, under Section 506 and Section 186 of the Penal Code, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

“The suspect will be granted bail once the investigation is completed, as there are other police reports lodged against her,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, another video clip went viral involving the suspect arguing with the public in the parking lot of a shopping centre in Brickfields.

In the video clip, the suspect was also seen recording the incident with her mobile phone while uttering obscene words. — Bernama
