Kota Kinabalu: Federation of Rural Tourism Associations Sabah (FeRTAS) embarked on a field trip to Kinabatangan recently to study the success of KOPEL, a community ecotourism co-operative initiative.
FeRTAS Deputy President Benjamin Golimbi said the trip to KOPEL had given them a valuable experience and an insight into how the Kinabatangan Tourism Cooperative conducts its activities and operations.
“KOPEL provided an excellent example of how a tourism-based community manages and administers their business.
