Feyenoord sports chief Dennis te Kloese has revisited almost joining Tottenham last season.
Both Te Koese and Feyenoord coach Arne Slot were approached by Spurs after their dismissal of Antonio Conte. But the pair chose to stay in Rotterdam.
He recalled: "Slot was the closest to a transfer to Tottenham.
"And there was also other interest, which is why we are very happy that he is still there.
"To be honest, I hope that we end up in the same position next year, because that would mean that we are just having a very good year."
