FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the World Cup will proceed as scheduled, rejecting Iran's request to move its games from the United States to Mexico.

Iranian government and soccer officials stated their team cannot play in the U.S. due to military attacks by Israel and the U.S., a concern also raised by Donald Trump.

Iran's World Cup matches are scheduled for Los Angeles and Seattle, despite an offer from Mexico's president to host them.

FIFA also decided to take no action on formal complaints filed by the Palestinian soccer federation against its Israeli counterpart.

Infantino emphasized that FIFA cannot resolve geopolitical conflicts, citing the unresolved and complex legal status of the West Bank, but aims to use football to promote peace.
