Fifteen officers accredited as gender trainers in Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 15 participants from the Sabah Gender Focal Points (SGFP) Cohort 3 programme were accredited as Train The Trainers (TTT) during the Gender Leadership Aspirations Night here on Friday.

State Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki said the officers would serve as resource persons and advocates for change within their respective ministries, departments and agencies.

She said they would help integrate gender perspectives into the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, while enhancing the capacity of government agencies to deliver more inclusive policies and services.

“Gender equality is not solely about women. It is about ensuring that the policies and services we deliver benefit all segments of society fairly and equitably,” she said when officiating the event.

Julita said the accreditation marked an important step towards strengthening institutional capacity and promoting a more inclusive and responsive approach to governance in Sabah.
