  • A California woman, Lonna Drewes, has accused US Representative Eric Swalwell of sexually assaulting her at a Southern California hotel in 2018.
  • Drewes, the fifth woman to come forward with allegations against Swalwell, spoke at a news conference Tuesday. She alleges she was drugged, choked and raped after meeting Swalwell for professional networking in West Hollywood.
  • She said she plans to report the alleged assault, which she documented in her journal and discussed in therapy, to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
  • The latest accusation against Swalwell comes after he dropped his campaign for California governor and announced his resignation from Congress this week following other allegations of sexual misconduct, which he has denied.
  • Drewes' attorney, Lisa Bloom, stated that journal entries, text messages, and photographs will be included in the forthcoming report to law enforcement.
