MANILA, Philippines — The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said that a Filipino was arrested for arson, domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance.
Announced on their website on Sept. 2 and on their Facebook page on Wednesday, ICE said Jaime Tan Francisco, 55, had prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine and harassment.
The Filipino was admitted into the US in 2000 in Detroit, Michigan, but remained there illegally, the agency said.
“Francisco entered the US in April of 2000, but violated the terms of his admission and went on to commit a series of crimes,” ICE Director David Venturella said.
“He was convicted of misdemeanor harassment on July 5, 2006, and then of methamphetamine possession in 2014. On July 25 this year, Las Vegas police arrested him for domestic battery, using or possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, attempted arson and drug possession. Criminal illegal aliens are unwelcome in the US, and ICE is partnering with state and local police to keep them off our streets and out of our communities,” he added.
