MANILA, Philippines — Taiwanese stars Jerry Yan, Vic Chou and Vanness Wu have arrived in the Philippines ahead of their highly anticipated reunion concert at the Philippine Arena on tonight, June 27, marking the first stop of the "F4EVER 1st World Tour."
Fans welcomed the three actors and singers as videos of their separate arrivals at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Friday circulated across social media. The clips quickly gained traction online, with supporters expressing excitement over the return of the beloved "Meteor Garden" stars to the country.
The Manila concert marks a milestone for the trio, who rose to international fame in the early 2000s through the hit Taiwanese television series "Meteor Garden," adapted from the Japanese manga "Boys Over Flowers." Following the drama's massive success across Asia, the actors formed the Mandopop group F4 in 2001 and released several albums that became staples among fans of the era.
Among the songs expected to be performed are fan favorites "Meteor Rain," "Can't Lose You," "At the First Place," and "Fireworks Season," presented with updated arrangements. Each member is also set to perform solo numbers during the show.
Concertgoers can also expect newer material, including "Forever Forever," a collaboration involving Mayday frontman Ashin and Mandopop star Jay Chou, as well as the friendship anthem "Always Be My Bro," featuring the performers appearing together onstage.
Ahead of the Manila show, Jerry, Vic, Vanness and special guest Ashin donated a combined P5 million to aid families affected by the recent earthquake in southern Mindanao. The donation was divided between the ABS-CBN Foundation and the GMA Kapuso Foundation to support relief and recovery efforts.
The reunion, however, will not feature original F4 member Ken Chu. Reports said Chu is not part of the world tour because he was never signed for the project and had unresolved differences with concert organizer B'in Music.
F4 became one of Asia's biggest pop culture phenomena following the success of "Meteor Garden." Aside from their chart-topping singles, the group released three studio albums — Meteor Rain (2001), Fantasy 4ever (2002) and Waiting for You (2007) — before the members focused on their individual acting and music careers.
The Philippine stop is expected to draw thousands of fans eager to relive the music and memories that made F4 one of the defining Asian acts of the early 2000s.
