Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano was satisfied after last night's 1-1 draw with Atalanta.

Arthur Cabral's penalty for the hosts canceled out Atalanta's opener scored by Joakim Maehle.

Italiano later said: "The moment you fail to win these games, you must not lose them.

"Nico (Gonzalez) has the freedom to find space, he's healthy and doing well, let's leave that freedom, I see him full of energy and with a self-esteem that serves. He was unlucky, he had to be part of the World Cup, but every time he goes to the national team he's a starter, he's a player respected by the coach: he's still young, he needs to grow. But above all he must understand that he can become a driving force."

Of the support of Viola fans, Italiano also said: "I think that in this sport there will always be ups and downs for all the teams, no one in Italy has avoided these moments. We suffered boos and chants, some situations that weren't nice, but we came out of it like real men with these results.

"At the moment we are ahead in the Coppa semi-finals and in the Conference quarter-finals, we have to manage the advantage we have."
