KOTA KINABALU: A fire broke out at an under-construction hotel here on Thursday morning, damaging 80 per cent of a section containing building materials and electrical items.
The Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 9.56am and deployed teams from here, Penampang, and Lintas, arriving at the scene by 10.01am.
A total of 19 firefighters worked to control the blaze.

Police, Sabah Electricity, and the Water Department were also on-site to assist in the joint emergency response.
