
GUA MUSANG – The air unit of the Fire and Rescue Department has continued with its mission to deliver 25 tonnes of food supplies to six Orang Asli posts beginning yesterday.
Subang Central Region base operations commander, Wahyudi Mohd Sayuhti, said the operation has been resumed after experiencing delays due to continuous heavy rain in the Orang Asli settlements since Friday.
“Yesterday’s operation began at 10am and involved two helicopters namely the Agusta A109E and AgustaWestland AW189.
“A total of 5.9 tonnes of food had been successfully delivered to Kg Gawin and Kg Gob in Pos Gob, Kg Jader and Kg Ladoi in Pos Simpor, as well as Kg Sempadik in Pos Belatim,” he told reporters at the Gua Musang District Council multipurpose complex field here today.
He said the delivery of the food supplies will continue as the weather was currently fine.
“Regardless of the situation, we remain committed in carrying out the tasks entrusted to us in this kind of situation,” he also said.
“This operation this time involves the cooperation of the Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force, and Orang Asli Development Department,” he added. – Bernama, January 24, 2023
