A fire in a refinery in southern Russia caused by a Ukrainian drone has been put out after three days, emergency services in Slavyansk-na-Kubani reported on Wednesday.
Official confirmation was reported at 3:30 pm (1230 GMT), when the emergency services of the district in the Krasnodar region reported that "the fire in the Slavyansk Eko refinery has been completely eliminated."
Ukrainian forces attacked the refinery overnight from Saturday to Sunday. Images and videos broadcast on social media showed a large fire at the refinery. Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed the damage.
The Slavyansk-na-Kubani refinery is one of dozens of Russian oil sector targets attacked by Ukraine over recent months with the aim of hitting fuel supplies to Russian forces and undermining the financing of the war.
Russian fuel production has declined significantly as a result of the attacks. Long queues form daily at the fuel stations still selling petrol to motorists.
