FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of a senior citizen who suffered a stroke and was trapped inside her home in Flat Sri Taman, Sandakan, last Sunday.
Its Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus Sainkui said the team responded to a distress call at 7.5pm.
“The 67-year-old woman was trapped in the house because after suffering a stroke, falling and being unable to get up.
The team opened the grilled door using a special equipment and proceeded to apply first aid on her.
The woman was taken by ambulance to the Duchess of Kent Hospital,” he said.
The operation ended at 8.32pm.
