A fireworks stall and two vehicles were destroyed in a fire at Majidee Corner, with no casualties reported as firefighters quickly controlled the blaze.

JOHOR BAHRU: A stall selling firecrackers and fireworks was completely destroyed in a fire here.

The blaze, which also involved two vehicles, resulted in no casualties.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Nakish Nekmat said 11 personnel were dispatched to Majidee Corner 1C, Jalan Bunga Ros, Kampung Dato Sulaiman Menteri after an emergency call at 8.32 pm.

He said the fire involved a Proton Gen-2 car, which was 80% destroyed, and a food truck, which sustained 73% damage.

“The pop-up tent used for selling the firecrackers and fireworks was 90% destroyed,” he said in a statement.

The fire was brought under control at 8.42 pm, with mop-up operations ongoing.

A 44-second video clip of the fire involving the stall had earlier gone viral on social media.
