KOTA KINABALU: The first multifunction smart pole here has been launched, Tuesday, with the City Hall headquarters building becoming the first government building in East Malaysia with 5G in-building coverage.
The pole is located in front of the City Hall building, here. It integrates multiple functions, including smart lighting, monitoring, traffic management, environmental detection, emergency message delivery, disaster warning and 5G telecommunications.
This is part of the government’s plan towards the development of a digital city with 5G as a technological enabler.
