Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will host its first Sabah Investment & Trade Expo (SITE), set to feature three major industrial events alongside exhibitions from both international and local industry players.
The expo will be held from Sept 26 to 28 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), organised by the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI).
Organising Chairman Datuk Richard Lim said SITE is aimed at promoting Sabah’s industrial and economic growth while enhancing its position as a preferred investment destination.
“We want to highlight Sabah’s potential as a gateway to the Far East region and global markets, with a focus on trade and investment opportunities in agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and green technology,” he told reporters during a press conference, Thursday.
SITE is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors and will showcase 300 booths featuring industry players across multiple sectors.
Richard said the expo will serve as a dynamic networking platform for the public and private sectors to build connections, foster partnerships and establish strategic business relationships, further raising global awareness of Sabah’s potential.
Three attractive industrial events will be held in conjunction with SITE 2025.
The 8th Sabah International Coffee Festival organised by the Borneo Coffee Alliance (BCA) will bring together bean and tea traders, farmers, educators and researchers, baristas, roasters and machinery suppliers. Competitions lined up include the Borneo Latte Art Competition, Borneo Kopi-O Competition and World CoffeeBlending Championship. The 2023 Malaysia Latte Art Champion Ryan Liew will also make an appearance as one of the local baristas judging the competitions, alongside international baristas.
The second highlight is the Property Hunter Expo 2025 Plus: Investment Property Edition. Property Hunter CEO Victor Yong said the edition, following the success of the last expo in April, will showcase diverse property investment opportunities in Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Genting. The expo will also feature the Kian Kok Alumni Association’s Food & Craft Bazaar and a Mini Education Fair aimed at raising funds for Kian Kok scholarships. Visitors will also stand a chance to win exclusive rewards through the ‘Visit & Win’ and ‘Buy & Win’ lucky draw campaigns. The third event, Mini Thailand Week 2025, will showcase authentic Thai cuisine, fashion and lifestyle products, beauty and wellness secrets as well as the latest innovations and technologies.
Organising Chairman Benjamin Lo said the event will provide visitors with a glimpse of Thailand’s cultural and commercial strengths.
Richard stressed that SITE is more than just an exhibition.
“It represents Sabah’s next step towards becoming a destination for international trade across industries. Everyone is welcome to visit, experience, and be a part of this vision,” he said.
Also present were FSI President Natalie Fung, BCA Chairman Dick Lee and Vice Chairman Alexander Francis Yulik, as well as NCT Logistics Operation Director Ng Vui Chan.
