Our little girl here showing off her first two teeth, at 6 months old. According to the baby milestone chart, she is following through correctly. However, I would not lie, this really caught me off guard. This is because our baby girl has not shown any symptoms as to what I have read and prepared myself to endure her teething process. My husband would agree too. She was always her usual self, a bubble of happiness and full of smiles and we just could not guess that she had her teeth coming.
Ahh, the feels. Our baby girl has grown a little, her newborn phase has ended, reaching one big milestone. Feels so surreal but really excited about all that is coming after this.
Just to share a little knowledge, the baby usually starts teething around 6 months old. This can be different for each baby. The first two teeth that will erupt are the bottom two. Baby tends to get uncomfortable during this teething period. We can use many ways to calm them such as offering them a teething ring, or a clean frozen cloth. If the pain is unbearable, it is best to check with a paediatrician for allowed medication for your baby.
Now the celebration part. The first tooth is an important milestone for a baby and their respective families everywhere. It is celebrated differently, according to the beliefs and traditions of a family. As for us, my husband being a Hindu, we will shower the baby’s head with sweets and the baby will pick up the sweets and chew on it!
And kid you not, my baby girl enjoyed every minute of it. The sweets were all around her, and she was just busy picking it up and biting into it. Full on smiles. Made our hearts fill up with joy and happiness!
